Spec2RunAI vs Opkey: mined, pre-built tests or your own, as written.
Opkey positions itself as an AI-native platform for the lifecycle of cloud ERP applications: it mines your environment to discover tests, ships large libraries of pre-built tests for Oracle Cloud, Workday, and SAP, and runs impact analysis on each vendor update. Spec2RunAI starts from the other end: the manual test cases your business already wrote, run as written. Both are no-code. They differ in where the tests come from and in what the stored test is. We build Spec2RunAI, so weigh this accordingly; every statement about Opkey is taken from opkey.com on the date above and cited by number, and we say plainly where Opkey is the better choice.

What the stored test is.
Opkey: Tests discovered, generated, or recorded into Opkey
Opkey’s site says it “mines your configuration and process logs to instantly discover the tests you’ve been running”1, offers “30,000+ pre-built tests across Oracle, Workday, and SAP”1, and lets users “record and playback, drag-and-drop editing, or use natural language commands to generate tests”2. Its support documentation describes an Excel Migrator to “import your manual test cases as well from Excel sheets and centrally manage them”7; conversion of those manual cases into automated tests was not found on the pages reviewed. The stored test is an Opkey test case, maintained in Opkey’s Design Studio.
Spec2RunAI: the tester’s wording, resolved at run time
Spec2RunAI stores the test case as the tester wrote it — business jargon, multi-action lines, expected results where the tester put them — and resolves each step against the live screen when the test runs. There is nothing to model, scan, or record first. Proven steps replay from selector memory without a model call. Autonomous Tuning may propose clearer wording for a step that drifted, shown beside the original, and the stored test changes only when a person approves it; the expected result never changes (Assertion Lock). The stored test remains a readable document that could run anywhere a person can read it.
Why this matters more than it sounds: a test that exists as a model, a recording, or a generated asset is maintained by people who know that tool, and it leaves with the tool. A test kept in the tester’s words is maintained by the tester, in a document that is also the UAT script, the audit evidence, and the requirement trace. Neither is wrong. They are different answers to who owns the suite.
Facts as each vendor states them.
Left column: vendor statements, not verified by us; superscripts point to the source list. Right column: our statements, with the measurement conditions on the Spec2RunAI page. “Not found on pages reviewed” means we did not find it on the pages cited, not that it does not exist — ask Opkey.
Where Opkey is the better choice
Oracle Cloud and Workday with pre-built coverage. If you run Oracle Fusion or Workday and want thousands of pre-built tests on day one8, Opkey has them and we do not. Impact analysis on vendor updates. Opkey compares environment versions to scope regression2,3; we run what you give us. Validated-system compliance. E-signatures tied to IQ/OQ/PQ and FDA-format audit reports9 go further than our evidence report for life-sciences validation. Certifications. Opkey lists ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, and GDPR alongside SOC 26; we hold SOC 2 Type II. Native desktop and mobile are on Opkey’s compatibility list5 and outside our scope.
Where Spec2RunAI is the better choice
Your manual test cases, run as written. No library to adopt, no mining, no conversion; the UAT scripts the business already owns are the suite. Insurance core systems. Tuned against live Insurity and Guidewire environments, which are not on Opkey’s named application list. Assertion Lock. Healing may change how a step runs, never what it verifies; every rewrite shown beside the original. Known cost. Published per-engagement pricing. Behind the firewall with no Windows agent install: outbound HTTPS only.
Keeping your test cases when you leave.
In Opkey, tests are Opkey test cases: discovered by mining, drawn from the pre-built library, recorded, or generated from plain-English commands1,2. When you leave, the pre-built library stays with Opkey by definition, and discovered or recorded tests describe clicks rather than intent. The portable asset is the business process in words. If you imported manual test cases through the Excel Migrator7, you already have them; export them back out. If not, write each process as the steps a person performs and what should be true afterward. Spec2RunAI runs that document as written.
Two things to do before any migration, whichever direction it goes: export the plain-language version of every test you want to keep, and run the verification coverage checker on it. Steps with no stated expected result cannot be verified by any tool, and a migration is the cheapest moment to add them.
An afternoon’s evaluation, for either tool.
Take ten of your real manual test cases, untouched. Give the same ten to both vendors. Then look at three things: the stored test afterward (is it still your document, or a translated one, and who will edit it?); a run report (how many steps had their expected result verified, and does the report say which did not?); and a deliberate break (rename a button, and read what each tool did and whether the expected result survived). Decide on what you see, not on what either of us says here.
Quick answers.
Is Spec2RunAI an Opkey alternative?
For web-delivered enterprise applications where you already have manual test cases, yes. If you want pre-built test libraries for Oracle Cloud or Workday, impact analysis on each vendor update, or validated-system e-signatures, Opkey offers those and Spec2RunAI does not.
Does Opkey run existing manual test cases?
Opkey’s support documentation describes an Excel Migrator that imports manual test cases for central management. Automated execution of those imported cases was not found on the pages reviewed; ask Opkey. Spec2RunAI runs manual test cases from Jira, Zephyr, qTest, Excel, or Word as written.
Which is cheaper?
Spec2RunAI publishes its price. Opkey does not publish pricing on the pages reviewed, so a comparison needs a quote.
Does Opkey support Guidewire or Insurity?
Neither appears on the Opkey application pages reviewed; ask Opkey. Spec2RunAI has been tuned against live Insurity and Guidewire PolicyCenter environments.
