Spec2RunAI vs Provar: Salesforce metadata or the test case as written.
Provar is a Salesforce-first test automation platform: a low-code builder grounded in your org’s metadata, updated in step with Salesforce’s three annual releases, with cloud execution and an AI layer that builds tests from plain-English descriptions. Spec2RunAI is not Salesforce-specific: it runs the manual test case the tester wrote against any browser-delivered application, including Salesforce. If Salesforce is the center of your estate, the comparison is close; if it is one application among several, it is not. We build Spec2RunAI, so weigh this accordingly; every statement about Provar is taken from provar.com on the date above and cited by number, and we say plainly where Provar is the better choice.

What the stored test is.
Provar: A Provar test built on org metadata
Provar’s site describes a builder with “100+ pre-configured test steps” that is metadata-aware across “page types, components, and experiences”2, a plain-English mode — “Describe your test in plain English. Watch Provar build and execute it live”2 — and TrustAI, “grounded in your org’s metadata: objects, fields and components, not HTML”6. Provar’s documentation describes loading existing manual test cases into Provar Manager through Salesforce data-loader tools as CSV8. The stored test is a Provar test case in a Provar project, maintained in Provar Automation.
Spec2RunAI: the tester’s wording, resolved at run time
Spec2RunAI stores the test case as the tester wrote it — business jargon, multi-action lines, expected results where the tester put them — and resolves each step against the live screen when the test runs. There is nothing to model, scan, or record first. Proven steps replay from selector memory without a model call. Autonomous Tuning may propose clearer wording for a step that drifted, shown beside the original, and the stored test changes only when a person approves it; the expected result never changes (Assertion Lock). The stored test remains a readable document that could run anywhere a person can read it.
Why this matters more than it sounds: a test that exists as a model, a recording, or a generated asset is maintained by people who know that tool, and it leaves with the tool. A test kept in the tester’s words is maintained by the tester, in a document that is also the UAT script, the audit evidence, and the requirement trace. Neither is wrong. They are different answers to who owns the suite.
Facts as each vendor states them.
Left column: vendor statements, not verified by us; superscripts point to the source list. Right column: our statements, with the measurement conditions on the Spec2RunAI page. “Not found on pages reviewed” means we did not find it on the pages cited, not that it does not exist — ask Provar.
Where Provar is the better choice
Salesforce depth. Grounded in org metadata rather than HTML6, every Salesforce cloud named5, updated with each of Salesforce’s three releases5, and compatible with the Salesforce DevOps tools your admins already run7. If Salesforce is your estate, Provar was built for it and we were not. API and SOQL testing5, outside our scope. Agentforce evaluation. Testing agent prompts and responses13; we test applications, not agents. Certifications. ISO 27001 alongside SOC 2 Type 212; we hold SOC 2 Type II.
Where Spec2RunAI is the better choice
More than Salesforce. The same test cases, as written, across Salesforce, Insurity, Guidewire, SAP Fiori, Workday, ServiceNow, and any web application, with no per-platform product. No install. Nothing on a tester’s machine; a local agent only when the application is behind the firewall. Sign-off evidence per run. Verification coverage per step, failures by cause, AI provenance appendix, PDF with signature lines. Assertion Lock. Healing may change how a step runs, never what it verifies. Known cost. Published per-engagement pricing.
Keeping your test cases when you leave.
In Provar, the test is a Provar test case built with the metadata-aware builder or generated from a plain-English description2, stored in a Provar project. When you leave, the project and its metadata bindings stay in Provar. The portable asset is the manual test case: Provar Manager supports manual test case authoring3, and its documentation describes manual cases loaded in as CSV8, so if your suite started from manual cases they are recoverable from Manager or from the original source. Spec2RunAI runs those as written, on Salesforce or anything else.
Two things to do before any migration, whichever direction it goes: export the plain-language version of every test you want to keep, and run the verification coverage checker on it. Steps with no stated expected result cannot be verified by any tool, and a migration is the cheapest moment to add them.
An afternoon’s evaluation, for either tool.
Take ten of your real manual test cases, untouched. Give the same ten to both vendors. Then look at three things: the stored test afterward (is it still your document, or a translated one, and who will edit it?); a run report (how many steps had their expected result verified, and does the report say which did not?); and a deliberate break (rename a button, and read what each tool did and whether the expected result survived). Decide on what you see, not on what either of us says here.
Quick answers.
Is Spec2RunAI a Provar alternative?
For Salesforce UI testing from an existing manual test library, yes, and Spec2RunAI also runs the same tests against your other applications. For API and SOQL testing, Agentforce evaluation, or the deepest Salesforce-specific tooling, Provar covers ground Spec2RunAI does not.
Does Provar run existing manual test cases?
Provar Manager supports manual test case authoring, and Provar’s documentation describes loading existing manual cases into Manager as CSV through Salesforce data-loader tools. We did not find a statement that those manual cases execute as written without being built into Provar tests; ask Provar. Spec2RunAI runs them as written.
Which is cheaper?
Spec2RunAI publishes its price. Provar’s pricing page is a call-booking form and Grid pricing is on request, so a comparison needs a quote.
Does Spec2RunAI keep up with Salesforce releases?
Spec2RunAI does not ship a Salesforce-specific update per release. Each step is resolved against the live screen at run time, so interface changes in a release are handled the same way as any other change: the step adapts under Assertion Lock, and drift on passing steps is flagged every run.

Ten test cases. Untouched. Both tools.
We will run yours as written and send the evidence report. Compare it with whatever Provar sends back.
